of men laboured here. Today it is part engineering workshops (where loco's and
carriages are restored and maintained) and part Rail Museum. Well worth a visit
with something for everyone including a wonderful model rail layout.

of Junee is also of interest. Built in the1940s, it is the only 360 degree
spiral in Australia. www.rhta-junee.org.au

Junee Wetlands
Immediately behind
the motel are Junee Wetlands , home to an extensive bird population along
with several species of frogs and turtles. A group of horses also call the wetlands
home and make a lovely sight, especially at dawn and dusk. Take a stroll
across the boardwalk to Monte Cristo Homestead.
Railway Square
Take a walk around the square and along the
station platform and imagine what it was like in it's heyday when Junee averaged a train every 8 minutes and the refreshment rooms operated 24 hours
a day. The station and surrounding buildings have been restored to their former
